Christmas 2013

"It's not what's under the tree that matters most, but the people around it."

Merry Christmas,  It's hard to believe another year has come and gone. With every Holiday we have I find myself still processing and grieving the little ones we once had in our home.  This year more than ever I find myself determined to find the silver lining in almost any situation.

What a great day spent with my loves doing all the things that really matter the most to us. In the past it would have been hard for me because I love getting my kids gifts and spoiling them. This year it was nice doing things differently and starting new traditions with my family. Showing them what matters most this season. They were so much more thankful for the little things they got, than I noticed when presents were stacked pile high underneath the tree. To watch them look, pick out and give to others in need. It really was so neat to see their excitement in giving. Not ever for our glory but his. To put others before our self is a lesson I hope we continue to learn and continue to teach well by example (even when we fail, I pray they learn).

This year all the things I am thankful for can't be found in a store, and they truly mean more. The greatest gift of all is God sending his son to earth as a baby. Happy Birthday Jesus, help us to make not only this day about you but every day.

It was wonderful celebrating Jesus' Birthday and all the blessings that have been given to us by Him.  We are so, so blessed.
